History
The Master of Economics Study Program is a postgraduate program at Diponegoro University. It was established in 2000 based on Decree of the Director General of Education No. 63/DIKTI/Kep/2000 dated March 15, 2000, with the academic degree of Master of Science (M.Si) in Economics and Development Studies. This study program has undergone several name adjustments, in accordance with changes in nomenclature within Diponegoro University. Based on Decree of the Rector of Diponegoro University No. 420/UN7.P/HK/2019 concerning the Establishment of Departments, Study Programs, and Sections within Faculties or Schools within Diponegoro University, the program’s name was changed to Master of Economics. This nomenclature change also changed the academic degree from Master of Science (M.Si) to Master of Economics (M.E).
In institutional governance, the Master of Economics Study Program falls under the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Faculty of Economics and Business. The Master of Economics Study Program currently holds an A-Accreditation status, based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education No. 5056/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/M/IX/2020. This accreditation rating is valid until August 30, 2025. In 2020, the Master of Economics Study Program conducted a curriculum review to align with the Independent Campus Policy of the Ministry of Education and Culture. In 2020, the Master of Economics Study Program opened two programs: Master of Economics by Course and Master of Economics by Research.
