Curriculum
2017 Curriculum
Prior to 2020, the Master of Economics Study Program implemented the 2017 Curriculum. This curriculum was structured based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI). The targeted learning outcome was graduates with the expertise of a Master. Mastering economic theory and being able to provide analysis of economic developments based on data. The 2017 Curriculum consisted of two, namely the Regular Program Curriculum and the Collaborative Program Curriculum. The Collaborative Program Curriculum was structured differently because the Master of Economics Study Program in 2017 collaborated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia in the field of Youth Entrepreneurship. Both curricula were implemented with a face-to-face lecture method (by course).

2020 Curriculum (Merdeka)
Since 2020, the Master of Economics program curriculum applicable to new students has been the 2020 Independent Campus Curriculum. This curriculum is designed in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Culture’s (Kemendikbud) policy on Independent Learning – Independent Campus. The 2020 Independent Campus Curriculum is based on UNDIP Rector Regulation No. 5/2020 concerning Academic Regulations for Postgraduate Education at Diponegoro University.
The Master of Economics program offers two programs: Master of Economics by Coursework and Master of Economics by Research, with a total of 39 and 38 Semester Credit Units (SKS), respectively, for a study period of 4 semesters (2 years). To support Diponegoro University’s mission to become a leading research university, as part of the Master of Economics study program, students are equipped with the skills to write scientific articles and are required to produce scientific publications. The 2020 Independent Campus curriculum structure is as follows:

Note:
- Concentrations are offered with a minimum of 10 students or based on the highest percentage of student interest.
- Semester 3 has a maximum of 6 credits, with the option of taking one full concentration, one concentration course and an internship, or a full short course.
- Elective courses can be taken across universities as part of the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka policy.
- The mechanisms for cross-university study, internships, and short courses are further regulated.
- Scientific publications for the Master’s Program by Coursework must be in a minimum of a national journal indexed by Sinta 4, evidenced by a Letter of Acceptance (LoA).
- The Pre-Master’s Program is held two weeks before the start of classes, with the number of meetings adjusted accordingly.
Master’s Program in Economics by Research
Note:
- Students in the Master’s by Research Program are required to attend Econometrics courses in Semester 2.
- The Pre-Master’s Program takes place two weeks before the start of classes, with the number of sessions adjusted accordingly.
- Scientific publications for the Master’s by Research Program must be published in at least a reputable international journal, evidenced by a Letter of Acceptance (LoA).
