Agriculture is one of the economic sectors that is very dynamic in its development, especially in the face of changes in weather or climate. As released by BPS, the national NTP in June 2021 was recorded at 103.59 or up 0.19% compared to the previous month. NTP is the ratio between the index of prices received by farmers (lt) and the index of prices paid by farmers (lb). NTP is one indicator to see the level of purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. In addition, NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs. Nationally, the NTP for January – June 2021 is 103.26 with a lt value of 111.13 and a lb value of 107.62. In general, until June 2021 farmers experienced a surplus. Meanwhile, for the NTP sub-sector, it varies. The FTT of the Food Crops sub-sector (NTPP) increased 0.43%, from 96.85 to 97.27. However, the NTPP value is still below 100, meaning that food crop farmers are still experiencing a deficit. Other sub-sectors that increased in June were People’s Plantations (NTPR) and Livestock (NTPT), while the Horticulture (NTPH) and Fisheries (NTNP) sub-sectors experienced a decline.
