One of the important issues in regional economic research is an analysis that can answer the interactions between regions so that it can take a more in-depth picture of the interactions between regions. It is hoped that the real problems faced by the region can be mapped out well. Regional economics is one of the important issues in the curriculum structure of the Master of Economics Study Program in Undip. So far the conceptual and theoretical have been presented in accordance with the applicable curriculum. However, in terms of application, it is still necessary to continue to improve the development of analytical tools in regional economic research continues to grow.

This regional economy is very important considering the character of the Indonesian territory which administratively consists of many provinces and districts/cities. The problems faced between regions are also increasingly complex. For that, we need analytical tools that help answer these problems.

One such analysis tool is Spatial Econometrics using the STATA program. The use of this analytical tool is extensive, but it needs to be continuously updated to accommodate the latest developments. It’s not just causal relationships that are discussed in this technique, but area mapping uses informative features.

Respond to it all, The Undip Master of Economics Study Program organizes Seminars and Training with the theme: “STATA Program for Spatial Analysis with spokesperson Rusli Abdullah, SE, MSi Senior Indef researcher who is also an alumnus of Master of Economics students. This training was attended by students from both Undip and outside Undip as well as lecturers. This event is moderated by Wahyu Widodo, SE, MSI, Ph.D  who is also the Head of the Master of Economics Study Program.
