History

The Master of Economics Study Program (Prodi) is one of the Masters (Postgraduate) Programs at Diponegoro University. Established in 2000 based on the Decree of the Director General of Education No. 63 / DIKTI / Kep / 2000 dated 15 March 2000 with an academic degree Master of Science (M.Si) in Economics and Development Studies. This study program has undergone several name adjustments, in accordance with the nomenclature changes in the Diponegoro University environment. Based on the Decree of the Chancellor of Diponegoro University No. 420 / UN7.P / HK / 2019 concerning the Designation of Departments, Study Programs and Sections at Faculties or Schools in Diponegoro University, the name of the program is Master of Economics. This nomenclature change has also changed the academic degree from Master of Science (M.Si) to Master of Economics (M.E).

In institutional governance, the Master of Economics Study Program is under the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Faculty of Economics and Business. The Master of Economics study program currently has the status of Accredited A, based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education No. 5056 / SK / BAN-PT / Ak-PPJ / M / IX / 2020. The accreditation ranking is valid until August 30, 2025. In 2020, the Master of Economics Study Program will conduct a curriculum review to conform to the Independent Campus Policy of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The Master of Economics Study Program in 2020 opens two programs, namely: Master of Economics by Course and Master of Economics by Research.
