According to the 2020 Merdeka Campus Curriculum, there are 5 (five) concentrations of study offered in the Master of Economics Program. The study concentration is designed to give students options according to their scientific interests. The opening of the study concentration is carried out in accordance with the provisions described in the curriculum. The five concentrations of the study are:
Public Economics
Provide a deeper understanding of theories, concepts and policies in the realm of the public economy, for example the state budget. Two subjects in this concentration are respectively: Public Economy III discusses the theory and practice of public economics with a more advanced approach and Public Sector Economics which specifically provides an in-depth analysis from a sectoral perspective.
Regional Economics
Provide a deeper understanding of theories, concepts and policies in the realm of the regional economy. Two subjects in this concentration respectively: Regional and Urban Economics, provide further in-depth study of urban issues, and Geographical Economics provides a broader perspective of spatial economic development.
Natural Resource Economics
Provide a deeper understanding of the theory, concepts and policies in the realm of natural resource economics. Two subjects in this concentration are: Energy Economics, which discusses how energy from the perspective of economic science and Maritime Economics discusses how the maritime industry supports the performance of the maritime economy, such as shipping.
Industrial Economics
Provide a deeper understanding of the theory, concepts and policies in the realm of industrial economics. Two subjects in this concentration respectively: Industrial Economics III discuss in more depth how the context of the reciprocal relationship between Structure-Behavior-Performance (SCP) and the development of the New Industrial Organization. Digital Economy and Technology, discusses how technology develops from an economic perspective.
Monetary Economics
Provide a deeper understanding of the theory, concepts and policies in the realm of monetary economics. Two subjects in this concentration are respectively: Monetary Economics III, which further discusses monetary theory with a more advanced approach and Financial and Banking Economics discusses developments in the financial and banking sectors.
